HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY, TONY!!!!!!
i really don't have much to say right now, aside from that.
29 MAR 2003 - 11.24p
i have cramps from hell. i figured this would be a good opportunity to stay in and work on actually getting the pictures from last weekend's rock star party online.
the party was actually to honor johnny, as it was his birthday. it was at lacey's... and many celebrity rock stars were spotted. in attendance were elton john, the boss, carrie brownstein of sleater-kinney, and a true IRAQ STAR, saddam hussein.
also sighted were michael jackson with kelly osbourne! wow! also, it appears that carrie brownstein was molested by jarvis cocker of pulp! amazing! i think this was a life altering moment for carrie, because after posing for this picture with meg white, carrie ripped off her wig and handed it to meg white and insisted she put it on. carrie was overheard saying, "even though i like girls, i always thought your brother was hotter than you, anyway." meg was a little baffled by this, and casually tossed the wig in the corner. saddam, the iraq star, spotted this and took full advantage of the opportunity to use it as a secret disquise. jarvis cocker, being as fashionable as he is, noticed how ridiculous saddam looked wearing a wig OVER a hat, and snatched the wig for himself and showed saddam exactly how to wear it correctly.
people continued to molest carrie all evening, however... there is something about a boy... um, lesbian... in a bra that is irresistible! take a look:
carrie enjoys a good squeeze...
but not as much as she enjoys this...
or this...
or even this!!! ack!
this is really a picture taken right after paul/carrie had some damage done to his/her private parts by johnny (laughing in the chair). i'm just throwing it in for good measure.
and here are five random pictures. enjoy!
one!
two!
three!
four!
five!
in other news, this took me entirely too long.
27 MAR 2003 - 2.39p
i'd like to formally announce the marriage of my dearest friends lacey and ezra. the wedding took place on tuesday in vegas! woot woot! happy marriage and many congratulations to them! and another congrats to lacey for putting her money on black and winning five bucks. i was the one who told her to go for black (as it is the color of my heart... and my car).
no, i have not gotten around to putting up the pictures yet... mainly because the more time that goes by, the less motivated i am to do it. gah. perhaps i will muster up enough motivation tonight. or something.
i made a great cd today that i titled, "put the lobster in the pot." there was a pop up add on some site that said that... it sounded good to me. i also downloaded a new ring for my phone... the police's "message in a bottle", as that is the name of my cr-v.
25 MAR 2003 - 3.25p
i stand corrected. frank black played EIGHT pixies songs, not seven.
where is my mind?, gouge away, cactus, holiday song, mr. grieves, nimrod's son, crackity jones, and (my least favorite) monkey gone to heaven.
25 MAR 2003 - 10.32a
last night i went to see frank black. what a great time that was... david lovering, scientific phenomenalist opened for frank. it was a little like what you'd expect from another "science guy" but with more references to pot. and more pixies Q&A. frank black was great fun... his solo songs were just as good as the seven (!!!!!!!) pixies songs he played. yay!
i know i said those pictures would be online by now. tomorrow. i promise. maybe late tomorrow night, but still tomorrow. i have an exam tomorrow that is more important. and plus, lacey is in vegas, anyway. they can at least wait until she comes home, but i will try to have them up tomorrow.
i got an email from dave davis of the cleveland plain dealer today. he thanked me for help with his class and suggested we go out for a beer, he said he'd buy. i'm pretty sure the email was intended to go to mike o'malley of the cleveland plain dealer, and not to me (naked).
it's so lovely and springlike outside. newt had his first bath of the year yesterday. i hate giving baths to horses. it sucks. but i love spring. and i love that it was warm enough for me to bathe him. spring makes me feel like this. ha, ha, ha.
24 MAR 2003 - 12.15a
oh my god. only in cleveland.
now i'm going to bed.
23 MAR 2003 - 11.42p
yeah, so i was snoozing a little before and now i'm watching the oscars. i don't even watch movies, but i'm watching people that are in movies get awards. how queer of me.
the party on saturday was grrrrrrrreat! pictures to come, perhaps tomorrow!! check back!
if you've visited ready.gov to learn how to use your duct tape and plastic, you must visit this parody site! in recent memory, i have not laughed so hard as i did while looking at that site. thanks to david for passing it on.
much love to lacey and ezra (and brett and paul, too, i guess) who are flying to las vegas tomorrow. the lovely couple (lacey and ezra, NOT brett and paul) is getting hitched rockabilly style and i am deeply saddened that i can't be there with them. congratulations, kids! i'll miss you all... have a lovely time, and a good, safe trip.
21 MAR 2003 - 12.09p
i'm hungry, but i just returned from the annual sale at schneider's. i cut my last class today to go, knowing that the sale can get pretty crowded. i remember going one year (with david?) and the check out line was all the way to the back of the store. anyhow, i picked up some stuff for lucy and some stuff for newt and some stuff for the upcoming show season. since i didn't show at all last year, it was hard to keep track of what i have and what i don't have and what i need... so i just bought some of the basics (most importantly: the GOOD kind of HAIRNETS!).
my meg white costume for this weekend's rock star party might have to be slightly altered, given this bit of news i stumbled across this morning. david offered to break my arm, but i don't feel that will be necessary. i'm not trying to be that authentic. paul and i shopped (at wal-mart - gross!) yesterday after class for some stuff for my meg white get up. i think we did a pretty good job. paul decided to be carrie brownstein for the party.
favorite band guided by voices will be playing a free show in cincinnati in april. be there or be square (or be some sane kind of person that can live without seeing them a million times).
i'm hungry!
19 MAR 2003 - 10.39p
i'm sharing berry cheerios (sans milk, of course) with my dog, watching the television. i'm getting a great geography lesson of the middle east. and i'm also amazed at how quickly the sky changed in baghdad. a few minutes ago it was all blue and twilighty and now it's ohio grey.
i have been devoting a lot of attention to the flaming lips lately. a lot of listens to yoshimi.
the cheerios are gone.
19 MAR 2003 - 7.23a
there is nothing quite so disgusting as a big pile of rib bones stacked a mile high on a small plate... bleh. last night i watched three boys eat like ribs like i can only imagine cavemen did. it was disgusting, especially the way there were big, snow white chunks of bone or something at the end of each rib.
after ribs, we went back to brett's and watched the rest of american idol and discussed the origins of the term "jump the shark". we also discussed what song from a motion picture we would pick to sing on american idol... and i decided i would do batdance. there was a girl on american idol who looked like her necklace was made of ground beef. it was disgusting.
back to "jumping the shark"... after browsing the jump the shark site, i saw stuff about austin stories, the best tv show EVER. austin stories didn't jump the shark by any means and i think the only reason it's even on that website is to give its fans a means of communication. i made david look at the site... and then he looked at eBay and found some guy selling all 12 episodes of austin stories on tape!!!!! wooooooo!!!! only problem, this guy doesn't have any feedback yet. i hope he's not just blowing smoke... because i REALLY would give anything to have all 12 episodes of austin stories on tape.
17 MAR 2003 - 8.26a
happy st. patrick's day! i should probably be out now, heading to a parade or drinking or something, but newt has a chiropractor appointment that we can't miss.
my weekend was fine, i guess. the weather was great. i had fun with my friends on saturday. i'm excited about lacey's rock star party this coming weekend. i'm going as meg white.
my sister, her husband, and their kids were in town for my grandma's funeral. i'm sure everybody knows i don't get along with my sister... at all. but i like her kids... at least ryan, the 22 month old. he was a riot.
i don't feel like typing anymore. i've forced myself to do this much, i'm going to quit.
12 MAR 2003 - 2.40p
my grandma died this morning. please keep my family, especially my mom, in your thoughts. it's been really difficult on her, losing both of her parents in less than six months. grandma has been sick for a long time.
just like with my grandpa, my grandma played a significant role in raising me. i will fondly remember looking through her box of buttons, trying to pick out ones that matched... and watching game shows with her in the morning.
i would like to think that she and my grandpa are getting ready to go to a garage sale or a flea market in heaven. i'm happy she's with him now.
my mom was with her when she died. she said she went peacefully... that everything pretty much slowed down to a stop and then she moved on.
10 MAR 2003 - 6.59p
hello. its now time for tonys theme. meghan is busy doing my laundry. the weekend...Friday night was Cat Power. After some early turbulance we made our way to the show. Bumped into many of my friends and many of meghan's friends. We began drinking early. Early and at a slightly rapid fashion. I chose my beloved 33 and Meghan chose Straub (the best beer that comes in a bag). I was the driver that evening and that meant that at a certain point I would stop drinking and begin buying the drinks. I made sure that at no point in the night was meghan without a straub. I am guessing that she may have had 12. The show itself was um, a show. We stood in the back, Paul and his friends were there and so was Sloop. They had the lights turned way low so we couldnt even see the "cher hair" catpower. Ok, moving forward, the show ends, we run to the Tavern, see some other stuff, and go home. We get back to my place around 1:00. By 1:15 episode one of sick began. This was more of a pilot episode, not enough sick to think it could continue. Saturday morning was a different story.
Saturday morning...woke up. Meghan felt fine. I thought that was odd, but meghan does not get sick. Her eyes did hurt. Frequently they hurt, but this was a new style of hurt. A hurt that had her whining (this is where the whining began) for me to poke out her eye with a cork screw. Then the "I am having an aneurism" began. followed by "take me to the clinic". This continued for a good hour, or so it seemed. She whined about her eyes, demanding me to poke them out, using a skewer, a BIG fork, anything to remove them. I decided that it was not in my best interest to do such a thing, I am not nearly as rock and roll as I hoped. Instead i took out the visine and placed eye drops sometimes in, but usually around her eyes.
Eventually she got out of bed and moved to the couch. Plop. She wanted toast. I complied and made rye toast. two slices. About 3/4 into the first slice it began. "I think I'm going to be sick" and she ran to the bathroom. Slammed the door. I asked do you need help and in return I got "leave me alone". She was a mess. Eventually she opened the door, that's when the tears began. "I'm never drinking again, I'm gonna be straight edge". The crying eventually went into full out bawling, it was something, meghan was hungover from drinking beer. I've seen her drink so this was something. She had to work at 4, needed to get to the barn and we were supposed to go to Kent. She couldnt so much as even drive. I am a fantastic boyfriend. I told her I would drive her home. It took another bout of sick, one of my t-shirts, and another 30 minutes and we were driving home.
On the way to Meghan's house she called her mom. More because here I am driving the new cr-v than wanting to let her mom know she was, um, hungover. She explained everything to her mom. We got home, she changed and we left for the barn. She didnt look bad, she just could not bend over and had a rough headache. Funny word, headache. We stopped at Wendys. You can get two cookies for .99 at wendys..who had any idea. meghan bought the cookies and some fries and lunch for me. We went to the barn. We took Newt for a walk. That was fun. I was enjoying the weather, meghan was being sick. She was getting better, but she was sick. We left the barn, me still driving (this was the only way I could listen to baseball..go indians) and we went back to meghan's house. She looked a bit pale, but not that bad. She drove me home and went to work. I went out in search of coconut squares, she needed some happiness. I could not find coconut squares so I picked up a box of candy at gorants. All this time I am figuring we are still going to Kent. By 6:30 I was back home, listening to meghans somewhat whiny voicemails about mashed potatoes. We were not going to kent, her stomach hurt. Meghan was hungover.
Around 10:00 she came over, she looked great, we watched Trading Spaces, all was good. Her stomach still hurt and she was dehydrated but everything was good. We went to bed early so we could get up to go see Lucy in Southington. In case you do not know where Southington is, its 30 minutes from Jacobs field.
Sunday was great. We made it to lucy's around 9:30. It was ass cold out. I mean ass cold. really cold. windy cold. we had to walk a sheet of ice to get to the "area" where the horses are kept. Lucy rocks, I dig that horse, she smelled funny...those baby horses like poo. We hung out there for a good 30 minutes. When i say hung out, that was it, you just kind of stand there, push one away and hug the other. I am starting to like horses. Meg offered to drive me home after that because she had to head to the barn. I told her I'd go to the barn. Hell, I already smelled like a pooed horse, so what did it matter. Plus i wanted to go. We took the turnpike to the barn. We stopped at Chrissy's parents house to get the bleach and then went to the barn. Newt was cool, I talked with him about world news. He ate a carrot out of my hand. Meg did all the horse stuff, you know, supplement, wraps, all that stuff. We even locked the trailer. Left the barn around maybe 2:00 and went back to Meghan's. She got ready so we could go shopping. We stopped at my place and then I drove us out to South Park. We hit the gap, old navy ( i found a sweet ass grey coat that was beyond perfect. i looked hot in it, sadly i did not have the 40.00 it was requesting). After that I took Meghan to her favorite store...Target. She loves target, she knows where all of the good northeast ohio targets are, she's a champ when it comes to Target. I bought 3 bowls, all cobalt blue, my set has been completed.
following target we went out for dinner. We ate at Rio Bravo. We ate like pigs. Meghan had almost 4 pepsis. This because she was still dehydrated from being hungover. Meghan was hungover from drinking beer. we had an appetiezer, I had a chimichanga and meghan had flautas or whatever, chicken and cheese wrapped in little tiny gnome like hats. Food was good. we stopped at borders. pleasantly served by creepy susie and then we went to my house. We watched the early simpsons.
all in all a fantastic weekend, minus the "tony please kill me, poke out my eyes, i am never drinking again" stuff.
10 MAR 2003 - 9.05a
i am not going to discuss the goings on of the weekend. there is a lot to be written about, and for this i am handing over the keyboard to boyfriend tony sometime today (he is at work now, not able to blog). you'll have to be patient.
but, for now... i will leave you with this picture. that's tony with lucy yesterday morning... this picture is great, and would have been a lot better if there wasn't the extreme close-up of lucy's "brother" noah on the right. it's funny, though... he's a nosy baby.
07 MAR 2003 - 12.32p
HAPPY SPRING BREAK! i am now officially on break. i plan on celebrating my break tonight at cat power (i would really like to be in the same condition that i was at that beachland breeders show... or the malkmus show... or many of the gbv shows...) and again tomorrow in kent.
my exams today were a joke. the first one i was ill prepared for... so no idea how that went. the second... oh boy... in a very crowded room, i sit by four or five of my friends. there was a lot of sharing going on... it didn't help that our professor left the room every few minutes. call me a cheater, because that's what i am. the funny thing is that we all admitted that none of us read the questions because we were blatantly copying off of one another... so where did the answers come from? hmmm. oh well, at least we'll all get the same grade. i've heard this guy gives huge curves...
i have a feeling it is going to be a funny day.
check out my sponsor's website.
05 MAR 2003 - 5.15p
i'd love to call everybody's attention to the swatch website. i'm sure you all know that i am a huge fan of the swatch... well, they have just released their spring/summer line for 2003 and i want about half of them. there are some really hot watches in there... check them out.
cat power is on friday. i'm pretty excited about that. i also have two exams on friday which i'm a little less than excited about. but as of noon on friday, i am officially on spring break... and that is a wonderful, wonderful thing.
newt seems to be doing well. his cut looks okay... since it's on a joint, it seems to be having difficulty staying closed. it bled a little bit today. bah. and his back leg has a little heat and swelling, but he already looks less sore when trotting on it.
my friend steve is feeling under the weather. many well wishes to him!
fight this generation...
04 MAR 2003 - 10.55p
boy, it's been a crazy couple of days.
i was barely awake enough to make it through my classes yesterday. i got what i needed and came home... hung out here and rested for a while and then went to the barn. i didn't really feel like riding, so i put newt outside in a paddock. it was a little snowy/icy/slick... but newt is usually pretty cautious in the bad footing. and i never expected him to run or do anything except wander around in the sunshine...
but of course i was wrong. he ran, and didn't seem to judge the footing well enough... he galloped right towards the gate (this is something horses always do... run for the closed gate and skid to a stop)... started to slow down just a little too late. he crashed right into the gate, breaking it in the process. i was freaking out... this is how horses break legs and shit like that. he trotted away and looked fine (thank god, i was seriously afraid a leg would be dangling)...
i saw the blood in the snow... i couldn't really tell where he was bleeding from exactly, but a closer inspection once inside confirmed he cut his left front leg. i started hosing it, waiting for it to stop bleeding when i noticed the hair on his left rear leg looked a little scuffed. that leg, although not bleeding, was tender to the touch...
so, to make a long story short... i called tony, nearly in tears, just feeling frustrated in general. he was about ready to leave work, and offered to meet me at my house since i had to return home to pick up some leg wraps and bandages for newt, anyway.
we went back out to the barn (with phoebe!) and cleaned and bandaged newt... tony touched him a couple of times.
i went back out to the barn this morning, and even though things have stopped bleeding and look relatively okay, his hind leg is still very sore and i'm a bit concerned about that.
i'm tired of typing and talking about horses... and you're probably tired of reading about them... so go here.
02 MAR 2003 - 11.06p
wow. what a weekend. this was the best weekend i've had in a long time. tony did do my blogging for me yesterday... here's proof... and then after i worked, we went to see six parts seven at the beachland. we didn't run into any ex-girlfriends... just friends, and some girl who bit tony one time. she was gross. her ass was huge, like a space shuttle.
i went to see lucy this morning. that was fun... she's getting bigger! the little herd of yearlings is too funny... until they started attacking me and cornering me. how embarrassing it would have been to be trampled by baby horses.
tony came over again after i got home from riding. he spent the better part of the afternoon/evening with me. i did some of his laundry (because i am the best) and then we went to the store in search of coconut squares... they didn't have any, so we came home with a pound of gummi and milkshakes. we watched the simpsons on the couch and fell asleep. it was very nice.
i'm going to bed now. as always, ...
02 MAR 2003 - 3.12p
I am the boyfriend, I am blogging...blah, blah, blah Tony.
So today we played dentist. I have to admit, it's one thing having her say (over and over) "can I touch your eye?", it's another thing when she offers to put her fingers in my mouth so she can scope out the teeth. I wasn't freaked out, not freaked out at all, part of me really liked it. Mainly cause I dig teeth, etc, and to have her play with mine was really cool. After all that I went home, spoke with my mom and started reading the paper. Then she called and before I could even realize I was back driving for a booty call, this at 2:00 in the afternoon.
She saw two of my ex girlfriends last night. One of which I used to live with. The messed up thing is that the two girls she ran into are best friends. Whats even crazier is my old roommate who is my best friend {sloop tom d} was with one of the two girls also. Making things even crazier is that my other old roommate Bryan {who oddly enough I spoke with that same night} was with the one that Tom was not with. However, little old me was with both of them. That is because I am one fly dude and I do what I can to run the best friend circuit.
I'm really not all that fly, that was a silly expression, I do not wear a white hat and I do not own white tennis shoes and I do not own white socks. I am just Tony Meda, blogging guy. I have got to get myself one of these. We actually talked about that, me having my own, um, clog, or slog or something but it never came about, I guess today is my golden ticket.
Meghan has to go to work which means I must leave. Later.
Oh, but first you must check this site.
01 MAR 2003 - 11.39a
what could possibly be more uncomfortable than running into one of your boyfriend's ex-girlfriends at a bar? try running into two of them.
not that i cared. i handled it well. it was mostly just really funny. i didn't get to talk to either one of them which was a little disappointing... tony talked to them a teeny bit. i was more excited about seeing otto the dog at the bar. he's cool... and he's a vizsla! that's a type of pointer... i LOVE them and i think i will have one someday.
